Role Summary

Workday Extend Developers/Consultants design, build, and deploy custom applications within the Workday platform using Workday Extend. They partner with HR, Finance, and IT teams to extend Workday functionality beyond delivered features, ensuring alignment with business requirements while maintaining Workday’s security, compliance, and user experience standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom applications using Workday Extend (Workday Cloud Platform).


• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to identify business needs that require extended Workday functionality.


• Build user-friendly apps, dashboards, and custom objects to enhance Workday HCM and Financials processes.


• Configure and maintain custom business processes, security roles, and validations within Workday Extend.


• Integrate Extend applications with Workday core modules and external systems using Workday REST/SOAP APIs, EIBs, and Studio integrations.


• Ensure all Extend applications meet Workday design standards, data security, and compliance requirements.


• Develop calculated fields, reports, and UI components for Extend applications.


• Manage the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, build, testing, deployment, and support.


• Collaborate with Workday partners and vendors to deliver innovation through Extend.


• Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and end-user training.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Extend / Workday Cloud Platform.


• Proficiency in XAML, JSON, JavaScript, and Workday-specific languages (WQL, Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields).


• Experience with Workday HCM and/or Financials modules.


• Knowledge of Workday Security, Business Processes, and Integrations (EIB, Studio, REST APIs).


• Strong understanding of cloud application architecture and Workday’s data model.


• Ability to engage stakeholders and translate business needs into Extend applications.


• Agile/iterative development and CI/CD practices in Workday environments.

Role Summary

A Workday Finance Consultant/Manager is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting Workday Financials to optimize an organization’s financial processes. The role involves working closely with Finance, Audit, and IT teams to streamline operations, ensure compliance (SOX/GAAP/IFRS), and deliver actionable insights through reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support Workday Financials implementations, enhancements, and post-production support.

• Design and configure Business Processes, Security, and Account Posting Rules to support Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report cycles.


• Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs to provide finance leadership with real-time insights.


• Manage integrations between Workday Financials and external systems (e.g., banks, ERP, payroll, tax platforms).


• Support data migration activities for financial master data, journals, and balances.


• Act as the escalation point for finance-related issues, providing root cause analysis and resolution.


• Partner with global stakeholders to standardize and optimize financial processes across regions.


• Document system design, process flows, and compliance requirements for audit and change management.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Workday Financials configuration and functionality.


• Hands-on experience in Expenses, AP/AR, Procurement, Banking, Projects, and Accounting setups.


• Expertise in account posting rules, spend categories, ledger setup, and journal processing.


• Familiarity with Workday Reporting, EIBs, and integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, Studio).


• Strong understanding of Finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) and regulatory frameworks (SOX, GAAP, IFRS).


• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and team collaboration skills.


• Experience working in global environments and managing cross-functional projects.
